We are officially TU Darmstadt SP!N-OFF

Lukas Porz came up with the idea of firing ceramics with blue light during his time at the TU Darmstadt, where he also met Michael Scherer.

Last week, we were awarded the SP!N-OFF label, a seal of quality for innovative spin-offs from TU Darmstadt.

We are a somewhat unusual spin-off, because the idea on which ILLUTHERM is based never had its own research project. Nevertheless, the connection to TU Darmstadt was an important cornerstone for us. We had the support of our colleagues from the NAW (Institute for Non-Metallic Inorganic Materials), whose laboratories we were able to use, as well as from the HIGHEST – Innovation and Start-up Center, who helped us with many steps on the way to founding the company.
